Wanting to offer an incremental progression of age-appropriate experiences for Year 8, this year’s Horizons Week is all about CHINA!
Horizons Week is about learning beyond the classroom and the ‘expected curriculum’. Students extend their minds and bodies in ways not usually experienced in a normal week. Students learn to accept challenges and work together, to see the world in different ways, and to broaden their own horizons.
We will put our language skills to the test and go and find out what this amazing vast country has to offer, whether it be visiting the Great Wall, enjoying some dumplings, experiencing the splendour of Mount Song, or simply enjoying talking to some locals in a vibrant market.
There are four trips on offer, each with its own distinct itinerary, made especially for Year 8 students at West Island School.
Whilst we hope that most Year 8 students will join the trips to China, if it's not for you please email Mrs Murchie to find out about local options.
