Students will learn outdoor survival skills - Can you evacuate your friend?.....This exercise involves basic first aid knowledge, hands-on making of stretchers using only the saw on a Swiss Army knife, and T-shirts and belts. Teams have to test their stretcher performance by carrying their acting injured person to safety. (knowledge, courage, calmness, self-help).Do you like hiking and the great outdoors?It’s time to get in touch with nature! Students will stay at The Barracks, beside Wild Great Wall, Huairou, Beijing. Throughout the week students will learn about the history of the Great Wall, understand about and take part in current conservation efforts and hike on the wall in both daylight and starlight (including waking up at 4.15 to watch the sunrise on the wall!) Students will learn how to navigate in the dark using moonlight and stars as reference points. Students will learn about the weaponry that has been used at the great Wall throughout the centuries including trying on replica sets of armour. There will also be an opportunity to enjoy photography and a chance to take your own stunning photos from one of the most picturesque spots in the world. |

Where: The Barracks beside the Great Wall, Beijing, China Who: Year 8 (2019-2020) Students will experience how to cook their own food outside in the wild (as well as enjoying some amazing meals back in the barracks). This is all about history, being outdoors and brilliant opportunities for challenge and teamwork.
